The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 就这样抄周星驰，都抄不好。
一个半小时那里隐瞒律师造成的转折，就很诡异，故事到那里就已经结束了。。
前面真的很烂，让我后悔来看，甚至怀疑都是什么人在打分。台词是最拉胯的，用力得过了头，尴尬一逼，剧情也是怎么夸张怎么套路怎么来，真是浪费了好歌好画面。但是从父母回来开始变了，越来越好，特别是那段雨中舞狮和最后一跃，真的很美。鉴于没有猴也没有白蛇哪吒，多给一星以资鼓励。对了，安排女主有男友，且男友不理解她的爱好，属实毫无必要，建议删去。
水墨写意南狮，闪转腾挪几下，我就知这部电影立住了。很美，木棉花（英雄花），月下林间的佛，以及冰冷城市高楼夹缝中的朝阳映射下的舞狮头，争霸赛中白马超的溅水。舞狮元素的变形，如举着鱼筐或者电动车头盔的练习过程，很难不想到狮子山下，如何上山！如何下山，（导演映后谈中说，跳擎天柱的结果没有那么重要，我想的也是这样，心中的狮子飞出去了，鼓点也在，它可能有一个暗黑的底子，失去一切，灵魂黑夜，但交出的是另一种幸福
完美诠释了什么叫：
你要梦想，还是生计？
杰伊比姆，是否比肩我们的人民万岁。这个世界的游戏规则是又少部分人制定的。从出发点看，即使万全的视角也有被遗漏的黑暗角落。印度的种姓制度都没有给贱民说话的机会。向上通道被彻底封死，这才是真正的恐怖。阶层可以存在，但声音要有渠道能让世界听到。
印度电影永远在拿捏观众情绪及共鸣上处于世界顶级地位！观看的过程虽然能清醒的认识到拍摄水平、配音水平、叙事方式模式化等诸多小毛病，但就是让你铁了心的觉得瑕不掩瑜，自动忽略。近两年看印度电影真的有点上头。
连你们央爸爸都在推，粉红们还前赴后继的给这部难得的国漫扣帽子，以后单眼皮的国人是不是要被直接开除国籍了？？？

绝对少有的国产佳作，彻底击碎了我之前的偏见，作为广告影视半从业者一员，此片的存在让我看到了国产动画的希望
底层人之歌，与励志无关，不是廉价的野鸡飞上枝头一朝翻身变凤凰的戏码，他们在追求的终究是一个没前（钱）途的目标，为的只是给自己的存在找一个支撑，给全黑的生活制造一个类似「点亮一盏灯」这么大小的奇迹，完事还是要辗转上海继续拿命讨生活，只是夜里入睡时身下有了一张床。前一小时的鸡血鸡汤味相当倒胃口，好在就像那脚臭味一样在后四十分钟逐渐散去，从钢筋森林中的练功至最终鼓阵敲响独眼病猫羽化成雄狮，终于显露出动人的力量。咸鱼翻身仍落水，就主题表达来说它已算是相当现实而清醒。
没啥新鲜度。片头不错，美术加分。人怎么都跟2D游戏里似的？
摘下，就回到生活本身。
不过我又警惕起来，是不是另一种，梦不可追，要认清，但梦总要有，不然如何捱过现实。
