The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 温馨，皆大欢喜。选择了要走的路，并且也最终得到了支持，本身就是很幸福的事了。
本应如丁若铨一般怀着开放的心面对天地与众生，关隘踩得极准，但对历史的书写仍是非黑即白的，以创造出符合当代人语境的二元对立为核心要义，沦为动人但浅薄的戏说。

妥妥为电视机尺寸定制的流媒体电影，叙事流畅，情感真挚，有一些技法上的小聪明。这样的温情小品拿到奥斯卡best picture也侧面反映了疫情之下的世道艰难。
音乐会对唱的段落是一个绝妙的入口，它意味着从有声到无声，从美妙与感动到恐慌与彷徨，观/听众才真正感受到聋哑人士的困境。虽然电影并非主要刻画这个困境，但这个简单但有力的段落，使电影的核心矛盾——留下或离开，真正成立。它是题眼，是转折，也是这部情电影具有厚重情感力量的基石。

故事脉络很像《跳出我天地》，
在几分钟看电影的短视频看过，当时觉得只是小众的文艺电影，没想到成为了今年奥斯卡最佳！
是一部你想打两星但涉及弱势群体为了政治正确必须打三星的电影
太暖，太治愈了，全世界都会羡慕这样的家庭~~~
可能是看过选角最接地气的美国电影了，感觉比现实中的美国大众还要美国大众，对新英格兰地区的展现也很具体。就是对白写的毫无特点，像是套路美国电影对白的集合，每个人说话都是一个调。
这一家人不免让人联想到《阳光小美女》，但这家人更有爱，其实每个人加点“缺点”（各自面临的问题）就好了。
