The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 嗯蜡笔小新一贯的恶搞风格，这种动画显然就是认真就输了的类型，不带脑子看还是挺乐呵的，真凶算是一开始就猜到了，但中途又洗掉了嫌疑，但最后发现果然还是他。
有被热血到。青春是什么，不同的人会有不同的定义不同的答案，青春是可以无数次失败后从头再来。小新是用屁股思考的小孩子，但那句：既然喜欢，就不能放弃啊！真的很在理。精英又是什么呢？什么样的人才能被称为精英？一定要成为精英吗？成为精英就是幸福吗？还是选择自己想走的那条路，选择自己的热爱才会幸福吧
全片都在为最后10分钟营造氛围，其他时间充斥着低级趣味的恶搞。
这部剧场版借小新之口告诉我们这些从小被应试教育、精英教育、成功教育洗脑的几代什么是真正的快乐，什么是真正的人生，什么是真正的青春
近两年蜡笔小新剧场版的内核有种巅峰时期的感觉，无厘头是真的无厘头，但也能让我共情，好喜欢～
最后的马拉松就是小新长盛不衰的秘诀！
一如既往的热血，但奇怪感动程度与笑点已经不及十年前的几部剧场版了。
虽然都想成为精英，但是这样的青春却是乏味的。
青春是铁面具，青春是恋爱，青春是闪闪发光，青春是自卑感，青春是后悔，青春是人情道义，青春是孤独，青春是狂欢，青春是曾经有过，青春就是当下，青春是哈哈，青春是FIRE！
天春学园是浓缩版小社会。蜡笔小新被创造出来，就是奔着挫败精英教育去的。开头有点小惊艳，可惜高开后不停低走。
真好哇，轻飘飘地带出如鸡娃教育或阶层差异之类的深刻话题，又轻飘飘地放下，还是以情动人，看到后面竟然默默流下一行泪，黯然销魂不过如此鹅。还是那么无厘头笑点全都能get，新风糖分超标竟还是双向奔赴，如果这都不算爱555！青春什么，是假面，是恋爱，是闪闪发亮，是自卑感，是后悔，是人情世故，是孤独，是欢呼，是曾经拥有，是此时此刻，是奔跑的激情555555fire！

青春是！！！！这里有答案 身为36岁的大叔还是喜欢表面低幼的野原新之助 正直勇敢活力激情正是生命的意义 汲取正能量中 愿疫情早日消散 还我大好山河 大好青春！
新的剧场版果然画面清晰多了。努力的人总是值得他人尊敬的。自己的青春要努力把握好，不要让自己后悔呀。

剧情接的有点突兀，剧本想表达的还是太大了，做成系列剧会比较好哦
这部也太棒了！幼儿园推理比小学生推理强多了😂。而且能感觉到好多风格，青春感，荒诞，还有小新风间拌嘴时就像是漫才。传递的观点也很棒，不要在意别人的目光，自在而活。就真的语无伦次了！
