The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 现场观影有感，老太太的裹脚布…..找片树林，造点烟幕，几个人摆摆造型就是拍电影了。以后叙事能力差，是不是都可以自我标榜诗电影
影片的最后画面由黑白转向猩红，战士脸上已分不清是雨还是血，这个长镜头震撼我良久，似乎什么都没说，又似乎说了很多很多。
不过，属实太流水账了。

这是一部非常有新鲜感的电影，战争片的切入视角足够独特。
结构非常好。镜头调度、分镜都太草率了吧，配乐有时候有点过了。色阶是不是有点卡得太过了，有点影响观感了
土方岁三视角新选组的故事，剧情比较平缓，时长有点赶，大量的背景信息一句话带过，虽然我有一点相关历史知识看着还有点不太明白。
了解新选组历史的表示这拍的就流水账😅而且小雪有必要戏份这么多嘛，每次出场还都好尬……但是我还是给四星，因为松平容保演的实在太出彩了😭😭
这是我看过的最美的战争片，也是感触最深的战争片，无名英雄的故事很悲壮也很治愈，他们或许目不识丁，但身为军人的责任感和骄傲感让人们懂得“使命”和“信仰”的含义！
此外，大概为了表现森林雾气，画面灰白黑，看起来像老电影。感觉看不清屏幕，再加上方言听不懂，满场灰蒙蒙的看字幕，难受费力。
其实不像战争片更像惊悚片。赶上这个日子，可选的片子不多，建议还是看老片吧。

逆时代大潮的新选组，螳臂当车的悲戚，大约豆瓣八成的同学不理解
最后那个脸拉镜头让我以为会转化成一个象征符号或一幅画之类的。
这部影片的审美真没话说，就很高级，每一帧都是大片质感，用这种全新的表现手法描述一场战争，说实话还真是第一次看到，新鲜感爆棚。
这是一部一个人的使命，却完成的十分的艰难，很出乎意料导演用另一种方式来呈现，与平时欣赏别的战争片有所不同，影片里没有那么多的喊口号似的台词，也没有花里胡哨的情感戏。
7.5分。
冈田准一演技不错，但是土方岁三还是应该铃木亮平来演，准一太矮了，和印象中的土方岁三不太吻合。新选组和会津藩真的是时代的弃儿啊，生不逢时就是说的他们。冲田总司本来是一个剑术高超之人，但这里面没看出剑术高超啊，坂本龙马果然是日本近代史所有影视作品都要提一提的人物啊。
新选组的故事不长不行，群像与自相残杀都是要有剧情积累的，但这片选角不错，尤其是芹泽鸭，有文化的流氓。
没有三船敏郎的《新选组》，一群乌合之众趁天下大乱自相残杀，终以悲剧收场。最大硬伤还是叙事，毫无代入感，都是工具人。剑未燃起来，已被枪熄灭。4
